Dr. Josh Moore grew up in Merritt Island, Florida, where he spent most of his time fishing, camping and exploring the intracoastal waterways. His interest in veterinary medicine began early, and is largely due to his Father’s work at the Florida Wildlife Hospital, which included rescuing and rehabilitating many different Florida wildlife species.
Dr. Moore received his Bachelors Degree in Biology from the University of Central Floria. During this period, he also worked part-time at Winter Park Veterinary Hospital as an animal care and nurse support team member. The experiences at WPVH helped him prepare his path towards achieving his veterinary degree. Shortly after, he earned his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Colorado State University. While at CSU, he participated in preliminary research studies within the One Health Institute to investigate the impact of poor air quality on animal health. He feels privileged to not only have worked with world-class veterinary specialists and researchers at CSU, but to also have met his Fiancé shortly after they both started their veterinary education.
Dr. Moore has a special interest in internal medicine, emergency medicine, dentistry, ultrasonography, One Health, and avian/exotic medicine. In his free time, he enjoys backpacking, fly fishing, snowboarding, photography, scuba diving, and spending time his Fiancé Anuhea, dogs Willie and Barns, and cockatiel Hamachi.
