Winter Park Veterinary Hospital has been privileged to be a pillar of the Central Florida pet care community for more than 60 years. Over the years, we’ve continually expanded our footprint and services with state-of-the-art diagnostic technology and a variety of pet wellness offerings. We have evolved to meet the needs of our patients and their parents, while staying committed to our values. Who we are today reflects these values and our dedication to providing the best possible care and treatment options for the pet families it’s our mission to serve.
It’s All About Family
Although we’ve grown, Winter Park Veterinary Hospital remains owned and operated by the same family who started the practice. That’s unusual in a time where many clinics have been bought up by private equity. Modern founder, Dr. Hess, has passed the torch to his son Billy, a lifelong animal lover who practically grew up in the clinic and remains committed to continuing the Winter Park Vet family story. We feel it’s important that we, not corporate interests, continue to guide the growth of our modern practice in a direction to better serve our patients — from routine care to diagnostics, advanced medicine, alternative therapies and pet wellness. WPVH delivers services with an empathic approach and designs our care protocols through your pet’s eyes to minimize stress during treatment. We strive to make our patients and pet parents feel like part of Winter Park Veterinary Hospital’s extended family — and we want to be your vet for life.
Complete Care for Your Pet
Emergency vet trips can be stressful, both for you and your pet, and a referral to a specialist or surgeon for a difficult health issue is never what pet parents hope to face. The last thing you want to do when your pet is sick is shuffle them from clinic to clinic or leave them in an unfamiliar environment. That’s why we’ve invested in a suite of cutting-edge diagnostic and treatment tools, including: CT technology, digital radiology, endoscopy, ultrasound, anesthesia monitoring, digital dental radiology, laser therapy, Doppler and digital blood pressure monitoring. With our modern practice, we can address a range of complex issues that many other vets can’t, which could save you a trip to an emergency clinic and keep you off a specialist’s waiting list.
Vets for Life
Pet health is about more than treating illnesses. We’re committed to providing comprehensive and compassionate care for all aspects of your pet’s well-being — mind, body and spirit. That’s why we continue to expand our wellness offerings, with nutritional and behavioral consultations, alternative therapies, such as acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine, to promote pet health and complement conventional therapies. You can rest assured your pet is in safe hands when they’re with us in day care or for an overnight visit — with special accommodations to make their stay more fun and relaxing. Our enriched boarding experiences, like our doggie play camp and cat “glamping” retreat, help your pets enjoy their time with us, which we know helps you enjoy your vacation more.
