Dr. David Franco was born in North Bergen, New Jersey, and spent much of his childhood in Colombia, where he became fluent in Spanish. It was during his time in Colombia that his passion for companion and exotic animals first developed. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Animal Sciences from Penn State University before going on to receive his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from The Ohio State University in 2022.
Dr. Franco is known for his calm demeanor and practical, thoughtful treatment plans that support both patient health and owner confidence. He believes exceptional veterinary care begins with listening. By partnering closely with pet owners to understand each animal’s unique needs, he focuses on building long-term relationships that help pets thrive through every stage of life.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Franco enjoys kayaking, hiking, and motorsports. He lives in the Lake Mary area with his wife, Leah, who also works in the veterinary field. Together they share their home with a German Shepherd named Rocco, a tripod cat named Pat, and two ferrets, Carl and Dottie. Their household also includes a variety of reptiles and amphibians, including dart frogs, a gargoyle gecko, a rhinoceros iguana, and a panther chameleon named Rio.
Dr. Franco looks forward to meeting you and your pet and helping you continue to strengthen the special bond you share.
