Dr. Crainick comes to Winter Park Vet having served as the medical director of a local Central Florida veterinary hospital for the last 5 plus years. In addition, she worked with our Medical Director Dr. Caitrine Hellenga in St. Louis for several years so she comes highly recommended.
Dr. Crainick grew up in rural Illinois with her parents and two older brothers. She attended undergraduate school at Southern Illinois University where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Biology. She then attended the University of Illinois for her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine. After veterinary school, Dr. Crainick completed a 12.5 month rotating internship at the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine, developing a love for emergency medicine. She then worked emergency medicine in St. Louis, Missouri and Glen Carbon, Illinois before moving on to Pittsburg, Pennsylvania. In Pittsburg, Dr. Crainick participated in a 12-month Emergency and Critical Care Internship. Since her time in Pittsburg Dr. Crainick has been practicing in Central Florida.
Dr. Crainick enjoys emergency medicine, along with ultrasound, and geriatric medicine. She also participated in a program at the University of Tennessee for Canine Rehabilitation.
In her spare time, Dr. Crainick enjoys hiking, participating in canicross, and competing in obstacle course races with her Australian Shepherd, Lily. Dr. Crainick also enjoys scuba diving, traveling, kayaking, and playing video games. She shares her home with 2 dogs, 2 cats, and 2 map turtles.
